Work in Bahrain

BahrainThe Kingdom of Bahrain has a recognised shortage of skilled health workers. Foreign workers are required to be sponsored by an employer, and are not eligible to apply under Bahrain’s eVisa system.

Employment visas for health professionals will be arranged by the employer following an offer of employment. A work permit must be obtained from the Ministry of Labour, as well as a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Directorate of Immigration, before an employment visa is granted. The World Health Organization Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office reports that 48% of Bahrain’s nursing workforce is foreign-born.
