Work in Canada
Canada welcomes health professionals to apply for immigration under the Skilled Worker Class or Provincial Nominee Class.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada offers an easy online questionnaire to help potential migrants determine their eligibility within minutes. See ‘Immigrating as a worker: am I eligible?’ to complete the questionnaire. When finished, you will be provided a list of immigration options available to you.
Foreign trained doctors must pass the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Exam, and must also pass the MCC Qualifying Examination I&II for independent license to practice. Some foreign trained nurses may be required to study or do clinical practice under supervision.
Across Canada’s provinces, health professionals are needed to fill skills shortages. Workingin-canada.com tells how Canada seeks skilled health professionals. Keep in mind that if you plan to live and work in Québec, you will need to meet requirements of both the Québec government (Gouvernement du Québec), and Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s general federal skilled worker program.
