Saudi Arabia camelThe Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomes skilled health professionals. Visas are required for all foreign nationals entering the country. Residence visas are issued to individuals who wish to live and work in Saudi Arabia. An existing employment contract and academic or professional credential documents must be provided. Applicants are also required a comprehensive medical examination. Processing of paperwork is expected to take approximately six weeks.

Work permits are issued to foreign nationals who intend to work in Saudi Arabia. Sufficient evidence should be provided showing relations and contracts between the individual or foreign company and the Saudi organisation. This visa is granted together with the residence permit or visitor visa.

Saudi Arabia residents who wish to leave the country are required to obtain an exit permit before leaving and an exit and re-entry permit if they plan to return to the country. Exit permits require the Saudi sponsor’s approval.

The World Health Organization Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office reports that 79% of Saudi Arabia’s nursing workforce is foreign-born.
